Introduction

The First Colonial Band Boosters offer fundraising opportunities for band students and parents to enhance the program and reduce expenses.

We run a variety of fundraiser throughout the year.  Some of these include:

  •  Booster Shirts
  •  Concession Sales at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater and Scope
  •  Scrip - Gift Cards
  • Amazon.com
  • Food Lion Shop & Share
  •  Car Washes - check the calendar for dates
  •  "Famous Joe Corbi's Pizza"
  •  Pie Sale (just in time for Thanksgiving)
  •  Fruit Sale (just in time for the holidays)
  •  Silent Auction (in conjunction with the Winter Concert)
  •  Concert Program Advertisement Sales
  •  Mulch Sale

Ideas for alternate fundraisers are always welcome!

Points

Students will earn points by participation in fundraisers. Parent participation in fundraising activities will also earn points for their students. One point equals $1 toward travel expenses (fall and spring trip), miscellaneous expenses (shoes, gloves, etc.), and the Spring Banquet.

Fundraising Guidelines from the FCHS Band Handbook

Participation in fundraising is NOT required: Fund raising is done throughout the band year (including summer) to help the FCHS band earn money to pay for its needs. Student participation in fund raising is entirely voluntary, and all students and their parents are strongly encouraged to participate. Nevertheless, the FC Band Boosters cannot and will not require any student to participate in fundraising, nor will its members tolerate the harassment or punishment of any student on this basis.

Fundraising is overseen by the FCBB Vice President (Finance), with Chairpersons assigned for each  fundraising event. The band is not tied into any particular fundraiser and it may add or delete any it chooses.
